Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup & SCWIST meet-up

You have been invited to join this Cleanup Event.

Meet new people, get some exercise, and do something good for the environment. This is an opportunity to meet SCWIST members and others interested in Science and Tech, in a “meet-up” group activity. We can head to a local cafe for tea or coffee after the cleanup.

Date: Saturday, September 28, 2013
Time: 11:00AM
Place: Shoreline from Trafalgar St. to Margaret Piggot Park

Cleanup Location Description:

This is a small stretch of natural rocky coastline that is home to several shorebirds and is roughly 500-600 m. The area is not as well used as the sand beaches of Kitsilano but still brings a number of visitors, joggers, picknickers and so on.
Site Coordinator Sarah Beley. We can always use more help. Feel free to invite friends and family to participate in this cleanup. Stephanie McInnis and other SCWIST members will be joining with Sarah’s group to clean this stretch of shore.

Register here for the Shoreline Cleanup and SCWIST meet-up.

Check out important safety reminders for your cleanup.

We hope to hold at least one meet-up per month where registrants will come together to attend an event, lecture or exhibition while socializing and networking. Suggested events are welcome! Email events@scwist.ca with your idea for a meet-up.
