APEG BC Young Professional Award given to Joyce Chang, P.Eng.
At the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) Annual Conference on October 16th the President’s awards were distributed to recognize excellence in professional, technical and community service by APEGBC members. Congratulations to Joyce Chang who received the Young Professional Award.
Joyce Chang has quickly become known as an intelligent and passionate individual with a real enthusiasm for her work. As a project engineer with CH2M Hill, Ms. Chang has played major roles in water and wastewater projects in BC’s Lower Mainland and Southern Interior. The most recent project she has seen to successful completion is the upgrade of Metro Vancouver’s Lulu island Wastewater Treatment Plant. Ms. Chang understands the importance of giving back to the engineering community through her involvement with Consulting Engineers of BC and the BC Water and Waste Association. Ms. Chang’s most exceptional achievement as a professional engineer is her contribution to helping those in need. Over the past four years she has travelled to Ethiopia, Rwanda and East Asia through her church and Engineering Ministries International Canada, helping to design water and sanitation systems for developing nations. Joyce Chang’s work-related achievements and service to the profession and community are an example to all.
