Rice University Workshop - Finding the Ideal Faculty Position

Rice University in Houston, Texas will host its second workshop for women in science and engineering on negotiating the ideal faculty position on October 14-16, 2007.

The deadline for applications is August 1st.

Accepted attendees will have their airfare, accommodations, and meals paid for.

Seminar topics will include:

finding the right institutional fit;
putting together a successful faculty application;
how to stand out in the interview;
how and when to negotiate a good start up package;
understanding the tenure process;
balancing work and family.
