SCWIST AGM - Thursday July 16, 2009

Posted May 11, 2009 by coordinator |  Category:Events

All members in good standing are cordially invited to attend this year’s SCWIST AGM on Thursday July 16th at 5:45 pm.

Location: Paetzold Health Education Centre – Multipurpose Room

VGH, Pattison Pavilion (level 1 – behind the info desk) – 899 West 12th

The guest speaker will be Dr. Jamie De Luce presenting The Impostor Syndrome: When Highly Successful People Think They Are Fakes

The Impostor Syndrome can be defined as a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist even in face of information that indicates that the opposite is true. It’s when an A student thinks that she’ll fail the next test even though she’s prepared, or when a manager wonders when she will be demoted from her position, even though all of her reviews are excellent. It is experienced internally as chronic self-doubt, and feelings of intellectual fraudulence. Dr. De Luce will explore the psychological underpinnings of this syndrome and offer suggestions for addressing it.

This event is free of charge to all members in good standing. Please register prior to July 10th here. New members welcome!

Dinner will be provided. We hope to see you there!!
